Accessibility
• Accessibility for the visually impaired
The site's user friendly and high-quality design are intended to provide access to those who are blind (using voice synthesis) and to those with visual impairments. Compliance with web page accessibility standards (set by W3C) for the blind constitutes a guarantee of user-friendliness for all users.
This specific focus on accessibility been based on achieving a highly readable site (font size, short lines, contrasts etc.) and compliance with specific technical standards (e.g. in formatting table management, javascript, systematic labelling and images, use of style sheets etc.). The accessibility of a web document lies both in its availability on the web and in how well the user understands the document and its content. It is important to highlight that many people will be using the site in very different contexts: they may not be able to see, hear or move. The processing of certain data can therefore be hampered to varying degrees depending on the context and the presence or lack of certain peripheral equipment. The accessibility of a document is its ability to be understood using a wide range of potential hardware and software, these being manipulated (or not) by human users with very diverse perceptive and cognitive capacities, located in diverse physical and cultural environments.
Furthermore, compliance with accessibility standards for the blind guarantees the quality of the source code (quality and optimisation of HTML, judicious use of CSS, systematic use of ALT for IMG indicators etc.) and the user-friendliness of the sites that comply with these standards (text menus at the top and bottom of the page, simple browsing etc.).
This site was designed according to the standards set by the W3C to guarantee perfect services and browsing to websurfers.
