HABBANAE: the friendship loan
In northern Niger, when a Fula livestock farmer loses his herd, the other farmers each give him a pregnant heifer. In exchange, the recipient farmer promises to give a pregnant heifer from the same family back to each of the other farmers three years later. This tradition is called habbanae, or the “friendship loan”.
Since 1986, AVSF has been sending the Habbanae bulletin to its loyal donors four times a year. The bulletin provides detailed information on AVSF’s projects in French.
If you would like to receive Habbanae for one year, all you have to do is make a donation to AVSF or subscribe for €12 per year by calling donor services at +33 (0)1 43 94 72 35 or by sending an e-mail: email@example.com
