Haiti: Three Years Later

On January 12, 2010, Haiti was hit by the most violent earthquake that the country has experienced in the past two centuries. Most of the country’s infrastructure was destroyed. More than 220,000 people died, 300,000 were injured, and more than one and a half million were left without shelter.

AVSF Director Frédéric Apollin spoke about Haiti in an RFI radio broadcast, warning that the situation there is still critical and emphasizing that an ecological solution is absolutely necessary in order to help smallholders recover from the crisis.
